I doubt it. International letter post is often 48 hour delivery, quicker than within the UK.
Even 'parcel post' can be quicker from what Ive heard, although it varies a lot depending on where it is sent from.
On this second subject but straying slightly, even different post offices within the same geographical area have different routings for post. Here is an example. I regularly have heavy packages shipped from 4 different US locations to me in the UK.
One of the senders is in LV. The packages take an average of a week. Occasionally one is delayed or arrives in 5 days.
One sends from Henderson. Average 5 days, sometimes only 3.
From MI is the most erratic. Anything from 3 days to 2 weeks.
From CT is the quickest. Usually 3 days, sometimes only 48 hours.
Ive had letter post arrive here at 8am on the second day, PO stamped 5pm in the US. Taking out the time difference thats an elapsed time of only 31 to 34 hours.
Allan Anderson did tell me the club mag mailing had begun mid last week, so thats why my 'surprised' post earlier was not in jest.
