Next to my son's memorial project tokens are my undoing.
You will find that actual slot tokens come in a varity of materials. Copper, brass, Cupronickel, pot metal, ceramic coated and others. Also there are experimental tokens in other materials.

It is a wide open field with so many vaiations. Alignement, edge treatment, rim design, mint marks and their size and location to mention a few.

One curious fact are the 50¢ tokens produced and commonly refered to as slot tokens. They were never approved by the U.S. Government for usage in lieu of actual U.S. coins in slot machines so they lie in a very grey area. I don't believe any of them actually went through a slot machine for normal play.

Then you come to the one and only $4 slot token. One machine in the United States designed to accept same.

To me, facinating.
