The Flamingo Hilton is spreading poker these days and has a room with about 5 tables and an expansion area with three more. I am not sure how long they have been there, but this past weekend was the first time I have seen them, but then I have not looked in every nook and cranny of the casino floor.
Anyway, I played in a tournament and much to my surprise I found these chips in my pocket after I left!
In looking them up in the TCR I see that the 25 is listed as a cancelled version and a modified version (i.e., cancellation repared) but no listing as a regular issue NCV.
Is this an oversight? After all, there were hundreds of these chips in use for the daily tournament there. Mine do not appear to be cancelled, nor repaired.
To go further, a cancelled version is valued at 5-9 dollars, while a modified (repaired) version is valued at 30 - 39 dollars, which according to Note 021, the value reflects the cost associated to repair the chip. Although I struggle with this, I understand your intent. However, is there a value on the version that I have, i.e., not repaired, not cancelled and just as it was originally made, except for some wear and dirt?
Since the casino incurred additional costs (labor) to cancel some of these, are those costs included in the "C" valuation for the cancelled version?
Perhaps the chip I have is valued less than "C" because there have been not additional costs associated with its lifecycle, thus far.
Anyway, is it an oversight that this chip is not listed?
I also have a trader of the 25. The 500 is supposed to be hot-pink, a color not within the light spectrum of my scanner!
Thanks,
Jim
