I picked up a bag of cheap clay and paper pokers chips at a flea market today. I pobably paid too much, but the only reason I bought them was to get a nice example of an old paper chip with a good square edge. I have many others with roosters and pirates, but those are newer with rounded edges. These are nice thick, uniform chips with a glossy edge. My question is.... When did chip manufacturers first make paper chips? Do they go back as far as the 1800s? I paid $5 for a box of about 100 chips and when I got home found one chip with the Hunter, dog and rabbit and the word "IF". That was a nice bonus.
