I think what makes this particular set of chips a little more difficult to define is that the chip maker sold them to the public, and from what I understand there were a fair number of them. I certainly don't consider the three $1 tokens from The Mother Lode casino in Cripple Creek that I bought a few years back to be fantasy pieces even though the casino never opened.
