This started long before last year. I looked up a post I did on the Coushatta in Kinder LA when they first converted the high stakes area to this type of chip. My post was dated Dec 2002. I received replied about Bally's and I think some other Las Vegas casinos that had tried them in a test mode. They were primarily to rate the players better by reading their bets on each and every hand.
