Unless you are into variations, there is only one Luxor $1 chip to collect. If you are into variations, then there are more than one. Some are more difficult to locate than others and finding them in new (uncirculated) condition is even tougher.

Other than noting a difference between linen and satin finish, the naked eye cannot see the UV coding differences. So, if you collect all the UV variations, you must also keep a UV light handy. Without one being handy, its tough to explain the difference to viewers of your collection, and if you upagrade a piece, you need to be sure that you are not releasing the wrong one!

To keep things simple, I suspect that most $1 collectors only have one version, perhaps two (linen and satin) in their collections.
