on the answer here, as there appears to be a bit of a misnomer in the real purpose of the Convention. Although a bourse floor is a major feature of the Convention and the bourse floor is mostly comprised of casino memorabilia sellers, that selling of casino memorabilia is not the main purpose of the Convention.
The main purpose of the Convention is to hold the requisite Annual meetings of the Club. These include the sparsely attended Membership Meeting (Annual Business Meeting) and the Officer's (Board) Annual Meeting.
The Convention includes a Banquet, Educational Seminars, Exhibits, a Club Table, an Auction and Trade Sessions. When the Club had Chapters, it also included making available space to have Chapter Meetings. (There are probably a few things I have over-looked here (Club Promotions, raffles, etc.)
The Convention also includes a Show. The Show is represented by the bourse floor plurality, i.e., the sellers and buyers. It is in fairness to the sellers that the Club not detract from that group of paying participants by allowing sales at any of the venues operated by the Club (outside of the bourse floor). This means enforcing a No Sales permitted policy during trade sessions, except that cash to even out a trade is allowed.
The Club's Annual Convention and Show is a wonderfull event. If you can make, be there!
