David; I'm not aware of any "fakes" of A.C. chips, but I do know of some alterations that have taken place on several chip issues. The one that comes immediately to mind is the redent switching of center inlays on Borgata chips. Example, a $1 inlay on a red $5 chip body ... or vice-versa ... and then offer them on ebay as errors. Another example are some $1 white chips that have been treated with chemical to turn the white chips a medium gray color. Bob Mera once told me that it's done with "mink oil" ... whatever that is. Some of the center inlays on a few earlier Resorts International and Boardwalk Regency chips had the tendancy to turn brown due to exposure to sunlight and/or florescent lighting. Some chipper swear these are variations, but I don't agree. But then, like you, I have a website where I offer chips for sale ... so I guess my opinons and writings don't mean much to some folks.
