Ebay sellers set lots of starting prices too high ... but hey, if somebody wants this chip bad enough to open the bidding at that level, who am I to say they are wrong?

I personally think that there are quite a few of them out there ... it's just that the one white-eye variation has recently been brought to the collector community attention. Nobody paid much attention to them, or noticed them before. Having said that, I don't think they are as plentiful as the regular no white-eye variety.... and certainly not "rare". I've received several emails about these one-eyed chips over the past two weeks from folks who have one or two, and who believe they are very valuable because "they are not listed in the book."
