This auction burns me up! Here is a the copy of the sellers description:
"You are bidding on a lot of 11 Las Vegas Casino Chips with a total face value of $14,300. Casinos are now all closed. These are pre 1988 and are clay composite. They are from The Silver Slipper, Thunderbird, El Rancho, Castaways and the Mint. A perfect addition to a casino memorabilia collection."
It is my contention that this seller is clearly attempting to sell these as real chips that had a value of $14,300 and came from now closed casinos. Also, they ARE NOT "Las Vegas Casino Chips." Finally, they are not pre 1988 chips but newer fantasies. I have written with no response or revision when there were no bids. This clearly tells me that the seller does not care to address these incorrect statements, which in turn, makes me believe the seller intends to be intentionally deceitful.
It is my understanding that these do have a value to collectors as Borland chips. I sincerely hope that this post will help keep the unwary from purchasing something that is misrepresented.
