Hey... that's the GARDEN STATE you're talking about.

Actually, David, reputation aside, most of the state is quite beautiful. Driving the northern section of the New Jersey Turnpike is really not all that good a representation of the state as a whole.

And, further, I'll take the New Jersey Turnpike ANY DAY over the 405 freeway... it's one of the best roads in the country, in my estimation (with the exception of the part that goes through Elizabeth, where you'd be well-advised to either switch your air control lever to "recirculate" or hold your breath for 10 minutes.)
