When I first read the stories about the Nugget being sold, I was kinda upset. I mean, Tim and Tom had just brought the property back around to being the classiest place downtown. That and the fact that I had just stayed there in October of 2004.
But if Landry's has a reputation for investing in the areas surrounding their properties, then I'm all for it! I love Downtown, and any cashflow into the area can just be a boon!
Now, if we can just get the City of Las Vegas to clean up the areas between Freemont St. and the Goldspike, and the Lady Luck I think the area would attract more tourism.
I remember reading here on the board a LV Sun article about a company looking to build some high-rise condo/apartments downtown. Anybody know what's come of this?
