Question for any postal employee

I assume a postal employee (or any other person if he wishes to take the time) can tell how much a package is insured for by the dollar amount of stamps on the package.

Having said that, can anyone tell me if an insured package--no matter the amount--has special care taken as opposed to one that is not insured?

Does a priority mail envelope insured or otherwise afford special care?

I've had great luck thoughout the years with the US post office but a unique situation has just arisen whereas I sold some chips for a lot of money and I want to guarantee the best I can, that the buyer gets his chips.

Needless to say, I will insure the chips, but still want the greatest odds of the package arriving safely. Would FedEx be a safer bet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
