In the years directly after WWII; 1946-1947, Italy wanted to make up for lost time and seize every possible opportunity on its frontier region to rebuild the tourist trade and be competitive with its neighbors... and in those years, casinos with all sorts of licenses and authorizations had been springing up all over the place, often without any technical or financial underpinning... Within a few months, however, they had all been closed down (except for Casino di St-Vincent) by the central government.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
