I never understood on markups on ANY current chips! I understand that there is time involved, possibly $ for parking, etc. However, Whay should I pay $30 for a current $25 chip that many sellers offer? Or better yet, $110 for a $100! It takes no more time or effort to aquire a $100 chip than it does a $1 chip, but yet the markups are very different. I currently have that problem with Atlantic City chips. I cannot find anyone to budge on $30 for a current $25 chip. It just seems silly to pay $5 for that chip. How do you justify a $2 mark up on a $1 chip and a $5 markup on a $100 chip. What makes this even more interesting is that with the boom of casino chip collecting, dealers and floor supervisors are much, much more helpful than they were ten years ago, thus making good, clean chips that much eaiser and enjoyable to find. Just my $.02, thanks for letting me vent.
