Hi. I am new to chipping. Just joined CCGTCC last week. I have e-mailed some of you privately but this is my first post I have TCR and can't imagine collecting without it, but I can't figure out how to use the values when buying. Better chips on eBay rarely bring even half of their TCR value. Chips worth $300 often sell at $75 to $90 or less. My budget is limited (aren't they all?) and I get excited when a chip I like seems to be going for a song, then I realize, you have all seen it too, so if it is going cheap that must be it's real value. I know markets change fast for individual chips. There was just a string on that, but this seems to be an across the board discount. Is it just that TCR is "retail" and we as collectors want to buy at "wholesale"? Should I cut values in half for buying? I know, it is worth whatever I will pay if I want it, but if I spend $100 on a $300 chip then see it next week for $50 I will not be pleased. Any advice would be appreciated.
