I suppose the ship still has quite a few problems to work out.
I have sailed on Holland America as well as Cunard. I've been on the QE2 at least 12 times that I remember. The service food etc. has been from great to only acceptable.
I have also had my share of problems with Holland America though truthfully it's been a long time since I've been aboard one of their ships.

On the QE2 there were 4 dining rooms and they were assigned by your grade of passage.
My favorite was their smallest, The Princess Grill.
If I recall, it sat only 80 plus people.
The maitre d' would come by at breakfast and ask you what you wanted for lunch. At lunch they would ask what you wanted for dinner.
You had the option to order from the standard menu or be creative and make your own.
One night it could be duck flambe and the next something simple like pasa ala olio. Dining in "The Princess" was something to look forward to.
I'm in hopes to get on the QM@ sometime this year and will give my report when I do.
