My wife and I have had cell phones for what seems like forever. We upgraded to digital service when it first came out and we got new STAR TAC digital phones and traded in the old analog STAR TAC’s. Later we put my dad on our family plan so we could always find him. Well, our phones do not play games take pictures, send email they are simply a phone. After all that’s what we wanted, a phone.

My dad’s battery would no longer hold a charge, and my wife’s phone had a cracked hinge so I looked into upgrading. We had to get a new plan as the one we were on Verizon would no longer honor (wanted to go up on the rates). The up side was that we could get new phones and some free phones. My daughter has been nagging me to get her a phone and I had refused. There are times that I let her take my phone to be safe. So with the free stuff I got her a phone to use on those times when we feel she needs to be in contact for safety reasons. We ended up getting 4 new phones with cameras, text messaging, games, paging, etc. Needless to say we had no clue as to how to actually USE these features. We left the phone store and we all went to a nice steakhouse here and took our cell phones in to look them over. Picture this 5 people sitting at a round table 4 of them with cell phones calling each other and sending pictures to each other, Talk about the Beverly Hillbillies crossing over into the high tech age! That’s what we looked like!
