I just don't know how to say this...I AM MAKING NO THREATS OR ANYTHING...THIS IS JUST SOMETHING I DON'T UNDERSTAND...
I am new to this chip collecting and as much fun as I am having I am becoming more confused than ever.
I have bought alot of Small Town stuff from James, Les Laurence, Gary Shepard, Jessebefishing, The O'Neal's, John Chamberlain, and lot's more.
Everything I get is damn near mint condition.
A number list in James book as R-8(8-15 Known.)
Well, that's cool, and when I get the chip, yes, it is very nice.
For example, I got a $5.00 Stockmen's Fallon Beige Error Chip. It look's like the day it was made, but listed as a R-8 chip...(8-15 Known and dumb a** in wyoming gets one, something just doesn't add up.)
My question...there must be hundreds of these things lurking around, maybe thousands...If it is so rare what happened to the one's in tuff shape.
I am sounding like an idiot, but I just don't understand how so many of these supposedly scarce chips are showing up in near mint condition and yet maintain a high level of scarcity in the books. Are people stamping this junk out in their basements and laughing at new ding a lings like me?
And, Yeah, Julie, New Collectors like me deserve everything they get.
I might be looney but the numbers are just not adding up on some of this stuff.
Of course, we may have to figure in the Norweigian stuff into this line of thought...LOL!!!
Thanks,
Mark
