I have submitted my recommendation for Gene Trimble to be inducted to the Hall of Fame.
Gene's expertise, knowledge and helpfulness can be seen everyday right here on the chipboard.
He has made many substantial contributions year after year to the growth and understanding of the casino chip-collecting hobby.
To list just a few of Gene's contributions to the hobby:
~Two terms as CC>CC Election Chairman.
~CC>CC Convention Poker Tournament Chairman.
~Originator of the Slab-Free Chapter of the CC & GTCC
~Co-author of the book on H.C.E. mold chips.
~Author of numerous published articles on chips and related casinos. .
~Instrumental in the Palm's Casino donating thousands of dollars to the CC>CC Building Fund.
~Consistently brings new members to the hobby and Club.
~Ten years involved with the design and release of limited editions and house chips.
~Gene has been collecting casino chips for 45 years.
His countless hours of hard work and research into the history of chip makers and chips has led to the identification and designation of many previously unknown chips. His co-authoring of the book on H.C.E. molds is still today a valuable resource. Many of his published articles on chips have appeared in Poker Digest and Gaming Times, Black Jack Confidential, and the Casino Chip and Token News.
As well as his accomplishments in the history of casino chips, Gene has put considerable efforts into securing the future of chip collecting. A perfect example of this effort is his organization of the Slab-Free Chapter of the CC & GTCC.
Gene's involvement in the organization and structure of a simple release of new chips is admired and praised each time a new release comes at the Palms. There isn’t a Palm's new release that goes by that I don't hear someone ask "why can't other casinos do it like the Palms?" His involvement in the chip program for the Palms has led to many awards for the Palms for both chips and silver strikes. And one can't discount the fabulous designs on the Palms room keys.
Gene is always there to answer questions on chips with information and experience. Always approachable, and always willing to help.
There are quite a few people in our hobby that are worthy of this honor. However, I feel none are more worthy then Gene Trimble. If you feel the same way, please join me and make your recommendation for Gene Trimble to be inducted into the CC & GTCC Hall of Fame. Visit the CC>CC club website and print out the recommendation form. Take a few minutes to fill it out and submit your recommendation. I think it's time that Gene be recognize for his many years of significant contributions.
