SM has bought the technology from GPI and licensed it back to GPI for 15 years.
GPI has perfected computer chips in clay compression Paul-Son chips. I am told that was the break through that got SM involved. SM has had a player tracking system for some time. That is what casinos covet the most. Very few want to re-rack with the plastic chips that must be used with Mind Play.
GPI had an exsiting relationship with Mikohn that will stay in effect.
IMO you can look for a buyout of GPI by SM somewhere down the road.

Look for the beta test of the SM system soon. Not sure where it will be, but soon.
