According to my book, "Fight Town" by Tim Dahlberg, the first title fight in Vegas history was the World Welterwight championship fight between Don Jordan (champion) versus Benny "Kid" Paret. The fight was held on 5/27/60 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Paret beat Jordan in a 15-round decision. Crowd of 4,805 and a total gate of $30,410.
