I bought a lot of Deadwood chips from him; was hoping to meet him when I "returned" to Deadwood--but never had an excuse to get out there. He was (is) a grand fellow. As I recall, soemthing soured him about chip collecting but don't remember what it was.

In any event, I too have the old paper center chips, have a $1 Phatty Thompson but not the $5 one and will watch James' auctions...though suspect he is correct that it will bring a good price--probably more than my children want me to spend from their inheritances.
