At this point (to their credit), they are a natural monopoly. The government should break them up like they did to AT&T. There is no way any other site can compete with them. If eBay doubled or tripled their fees, they are still a bargain compared to other venues because their audience is so big. .... ...... ...... Almost any other product I can think of can be overcome with a better product from an unknown outfit. For example, if someone built a better/cheaper TV or frozen dinner, people would buy it; they wouldn't care how many others did or did not buy it. But auctioning somehing is different. Who would sell their items at an auction house that charged next to no fees and had next to no audience?
