I clicked on a two blind links on TheChipBoard today and ended up looking at a couple of things of which I had absolutely NO interest. I thought how nice it would have been if the poster had given a brief desciption of the content of the link. Something like, “Hey folks, wanta see a chip/token/jeton from WA/LV/AU? Check this out!” I mean sometimes you have to deal with eBay loading one of their humungus pages and then wait for the image download (Cue Final Jeopardy music here). Another blind link leads to newspaper websites and pop-up h*ll. The post header sez “Las Vegas Strip On Fire!” but the poster simply writes “Read about it here.” He provides only a newspaper headline with a link to LVRJ or something. Turns out to be a piece about stock/property/Corona prices. Snore. Puleeeeze, could you give a hint of why we’d want to click through on these things? A line from the story perhaps or what you find interesting about the link content.
Consider the recent practical joke link. The poster promised nekkid cops! Well… who doesn’t want to see nekkid cops? Now we got a reason to check this bad boy out. Of course as we all know, the Limo Studs have seen enough nekkid cops to last a lifetime so they’d probably opt NOT to hit this link. All in all, even though it was a joke, it is an example of a courtesy I would like to see more often on this board. Told you it wasn't very important.
