Since there were several comments on this board as to the prices of chips listed at Collecting Fun being too high, though without any examples being offered, I took it upon myself to compare the prices to The Chip Rack prices. it would appear from the below results that in fact the chips listed at Collecting Fun range from being fairly priced to being bargains.
Needless to say I could only examine Nevada chips and did take condition into consideration. I left out only one chip from the analysis and that was the average condition Piccadily offered at $200 with TCR range between $800-1099. The mean condition of the analyzed 79 chips is slightly above "Slightly Used" (found by assigning numbers 1-5 to the five CC & GTCC conditions, and averaging to find 4.05). Since almost all chips in the analysis were obsolete, TCR values would be applicable to the Slightly Used condition directly. The TCR ranges were averaged in the same manner as the chip prices. Here are the results:
Average price of Collecting Fun analyzed chips: $27.91
TCR averaged range___________________________: $33.73 - 41.97
In terms of percentages we therefore find that the average price of chips listed at Collecting Fun is 82.7% of TCR low values average and is 66.50% of TCR high values average. These ratios would have been even lower had I included the Piccadily chip.
