I spoke to my friend who is a partner in a major league baseball team. He indicated that he thought there would be HUGE problems with anybody trying to associate themselves from a casino with major league baseball.

The teams in some cities don't own their stadiums, some do, but everything that has anything to do with a specific baseball team that involves a commercial activity MUST get the approval of MLB. His opinion is pretty signifigant because of his relation to the owner of the team and he has been involved for a very long time. IMHO!

It is unlikeley that the Tropicana ever sought permission from MLB!
