I've got to agree with Gene on this issue.

While Las Vegas interests represents the bulk of the collecting universe in this hobby ... there are other gaming juristictions that have an impact on the hobby's growth as well.

Sure, CC & GTCC loses a considerable number of members each year ... for lots of reasons ... but the club has been fortunate to be able to replace those members the club has lost with additional new members... due primarily to their exposure to LE's found in casinos across the country.

In addition, because the club drops lots of members each year for non-renewal of dues, does not necessarily mean that many of these folks no longer collect chips. It just means, in many cases, that they no longer belong to a collector's organization.
