I have been handed down a $5 poker chip from the Commercial Hotel & Casino in Elko, NV. My father who handed it down said it was last valued at $250.00. I am not as much interested in the value as I am the time period it had been used. It is a hard rubber color Red with 3 green squares on the outside edge. It has ingraved/pressed into the outside edge Nevada, some cards and some dice. In the center it has a ocean color blueish green paper with a bear standing tall next to the red $5 and Commercial Hotel, Elko, NV underneath that. Can anybody identify the period in which the chip might have been used there? Is there such a thing as a archive of chips used by Commercial Hotel/Casino since the start of the poker chip being used? If someone could direct me to some info or a starting place I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You, Shelly
