I am in Brentwood in Norcal, between Walnut Creek in the East Bay Area and Stockton. It gets hot out here in the summer and very cold in the winter. I keep all my chips inside the house either in chip cases or binders. I have just a few in airtights on display.

You mentioned snow, so you are probably East of me. Sierra foothills or above?
