Thank you for your comment Steve. Allow me to interpret your first remark to mean "eBay chip auctions will get more views in a week than "Collecting Fun" will probably get in several years." rather than just "eBay will get more views in a week ...". Note that the views aBay chip auctions get is only a tiny fraction of the total eBay views. In fact, one statistic I left out inadvertently in my above post was the number of clicks (views) to the eBay chip auctions that were part of the statistics I gave. For those auctions where a counter was available, the average number of clicks was 21.2, and the average number of clicks to sold items was 26.8. The current average number of clicks to chips currently listed at Collecting Fun is 13 (no numbers are available right now for sold ones unless we dig them up). This counter statistic is available to sellers in detail.
While the Collecting Fun click count is currently less than that of eBay, it is nowhere as low as you may have thought it is, and we expect this to increase as the number of our visitors increase. Also, each item at Collecting Fun, unless it is sold earlier, gets much more time exposure than the one week at eBay.
We have now externalized our Advanced Search event counter (different than our "Item Details" click-through" counters mentioned above) and placed it on the main page. It will now count visits to the main page, but should give you an idea of the number of visits to Collecting Fun.
We do not keep track of sales, sellers who have chosen to list with us do. However, I do note that some items listed for sale earlier are no longer available, so sales have been taking place. Why would you doubt that a quality item by a dependable seller at a reasonable price will sell from Collecting Fun? Our approach is different and it will take some getting used to by everyone, but we believe that this will happen sooner than later. Please note also that sellers who list with us keep more of their earnings from sales (currently all their earnings), and do much less management than for auctions. Thanks again for your contribution.
