I spent hours on the phone with optonline tech's yesterday morning and late afternoon. After taking control of my computer several times ... with advanced tech assistance, they have determined that my email problem is with my McAfee anti-virus software which keeps changing my incoming mail server address to a loopback server which is causing my computer time-out before connecting to ISP server.
They gave me McAfee's phone number 888 847-8766, which I called last night at 8:30 and got a recording ... "please call back during our regular hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m."
This morning I called McAfee again at 9:15 a.m. and got the following recording: "we're closd for the holiday... please call back again".
I think I'll be dumping all three of my McAfee services today. That is NOT the way to run a support program. I can imagine what it is going to be like the day after Christmas after lots of brand new computer owners are calling for technical support.
