the $1 gaming tokens are. The newer technology (TITO or EZPay) has, in effect, killed coin operation of slot machines. I say this because it may have an impact on the "collectibility" of gaming tokens that are in good condition. Especially higher denomination tokens like the $5 tokens.
To answer your specific question about inter-operability of $5 gaming tokens between various casinos... I believe that you will be hard pressed to even find $5 machines that accept tokens and when you do, they will likely only accept tokens issued by that casino.
There are several token collectors that will be interested in the $5 tokens, as long as they are in good condition. I suggest that you scan them and post pictures here. You might get an offer or two.
