I sometimes go to the cage and ask for what I want with the exact amount showing and then showing my tip in hand but separate. For example I will asked for two fives with one or two dollars in my hand sliding it towards the cashier, but not giving it to them until the purchase is complete. This way they know it's coming. Then they may look for nicer chips or offer something else they may have. Barry
