I see your point, and it has much validity. However, it may be too early to make the same call, since the number of chip collectors is currently nowhere near the number of stamp collectors, and the numbers in which LE chips are currently coming out are not comparable to those of the Soviet stamps. Earlier LE chips (issued in more limited numbers compared to future issues) may be more highly sought after in the future when (and if) the number of chip collectors skyrockets, but then again, who knows!
