Espinho was one of the most fashionables portuguese beach in the end of 19th century-beginning of 20th.Gambling was there effervescent (lots of casinos- Casino Bragança, Jardim do Teatro, Casino Havaneza,Casino Chinez, Casino Paraizo de Vizeu, etc- see the article I wrote in CCGTCC news some years ago).
