Thanks for the in person report. I had phoned the Commercial and they said no tables, but that didn't mean they were gone forever. Same at Gold Country. I have a feeling thay are a slot joint from now on. So tell me, what does The Commercial look like with the remodeling after the fire? Cool tile floor in the front casino part, in front of the bar, if it hasn't been replaced.
Does Stockmen's still have the lone strike machine near the Change booth?
Did you happen to see what they are using for roulettes at Red Lion and how many wheels? Sometimes there's one, some trips two. Only game in town.
Red Lion has a 21 tournament, I've never seen what the chips look like. Maybe you can scope that out, if it's running?
Those "limited edition" (2000 each made) Cowboy Poetry were starting to look "used" last time I was there in 2002. At the time the 1997 re-appeared, after being gone in 2001. The chip manager said he found a box of them in the vault. One thing about these is the ones that went to collections are going to be in like new condition and we'll see worn LEs which has to make them different from most LEs that are all in almost unused condition.
Did you ask about chips at Commercial or Gold Country? Selling from the cage? While not uncommon or unusual, they might become obsolete and unavailable.
Last thing, since it looks like I won't be making a visit this year, if you can check at Stockmen's, see if the aniversary $25 is still in play. They had a limited issue and I wondered if they are still around after a couple of years.
If you can't do any of the above, have a nice time!
