Inexpensive Picture Editing

If you don't have a program on your PC for editing scans, photos, etc., you should have. I have used Adobe Photoshop Limited Edition for a number of years and find it does everything I want in terms of adjusting color, brightness, picture size, etc. I use it for scans of chips as well as for photos from my digital camera.

I decided to put this same program on my laptop so I can work with camera images when I travel and was able to find an eBay seller that has oem versions (legal) of this software for only $18.85. The version of the program is 5.0, the same as I've been using on my desktop PC. It was released in 1998 but does everything you need.

See the link below if you'd like to order for your PC. You get only the CD for intallation, but the manual is on the disk as a PDF file for on-line reference or to print out if you want a real user manual. The auction is a "Buy It Now" so there's no need to wait for the lot to close. I ordered mine on Dec 9th and got it on Dec 13th.

If you have a scanner, I recommend you set up Photoshop to accept scans directly from the scanner. That way you can just open the Photoshop program and do all your scanning without having to move files around on your disk.
