Dale Seymour in his catalog explains paranoid chips as..."Every manufacturer of gaming chips advertised that its company used the "finest indestructible material." Other oft-used terms included: non-duplicate, uniform thickness and color, polished edges, sand-blast finish, and permits easier cutting and stacking. In the late 1800's the chips were often referred to as "Paranoid Chips." The use of this name continued well into the mid 1900's. The name was more descriptive of chip users than of the chips themselves; it was merely a brand name denoting a better quality"............
