First of all, I am not talking about Silver Strike collectors. No one in their right minds would collect those as they are just put out for collectors. LOL
I am talking about the closet slot token collectors that don't say a word on this BB. I can undersand why some people don't want to collect slot tokens as they really look bad when used. Nothing worse than a beat up slot token.
This reminds me, if any of you are coin collectors you will know what I am talking about. Slabbed Silver Dollars. Remember all of those slabbed MS63/MS65 silver dollers that look so bad and beat up that you would not have them in your collection? It has been a long time theory of mine that those silver dollars have been through slot machines. They may be Unc but they sure are beat up. Think about it.
Anyway, back to the subject of token collectors. I think it is time we all stand up and be counted. Token collecting has several points of interest. Such as coin design. If you collect tokens for any period of time you will see what makes a nice looking token and what doesn't work at all.
I think most token collectors would agree that what we need is a really good, comprehensive catalog with prices. This alone would probably generate hundreds of collectors. There are some really scarce tokens out there from very small casinos that didn't stay open very long. To find them in good shape is very difficult.
Enough of my spouting off tonight. If anyone is interested in token colleting or is a token collector I would be more than glad to hear from you.
