I have to jump in and say that Tap Handle Man is a member of the CC>CC, an avid A.C. Roulette Collector and a friend of mine. Everything he buys goes directly into his very extensive collection. He is just a very determined bidder and if he wants something, he "puts his money where his mouth is". He is in no way a shill or any type of a phony bidder. Take it from "Mr. Roulette" - Tap Handle Man is a "TRUE" collector much like our beloved Crest and Seal Specialist Rich Hanover - a "Collector's Collector" - money is no object if they want something for THEIR collection..
As far as the value of the Brighton Roulettes is concerned, they consistently sell in the $200 to $250 range. They are not the rarest of the A.C Roulettes, but they are the most desirable because of the Brighton legacy (a Grand old A. C. Hotel) for decades before legalized gambling began. Also there was only gambling at the Brighton for a short period of time before it changed to the Sands. The Brighton Roulettes are also more attractive than the Hotstamped early Roulettes used at Resorts and other older Casinos. The Brighton is similar to the Flamingo in Vegas - not the oldest Casino but the one with the Bugsy connection.
On a personal note, I have examples of both of the Brighton Roulette chips that were in the Auction. However, I bid $199.99 on these two chips and if I got them for $199.99 I would have resold them at a profit!!! If I needed them for my own collection I would have bid well over $400.00. I guess I could be considered a shill or the evil guy who outbids other "real" collectors just to resell desirable chips.
Till later,
"Mr. Roulette"
