Mr. Freres, As a collector of Nevada casino chips for the past 20 years I agree with Gene Trimble and others 110%.
You have now stirred up a hornest's nest for collectors that had just began to settle down.
The first casino I walk into now to "buy' a chip for my collection and get told "we can no longer sell chips from the cage" YOU are going to be the one responsible for that and I am not going to like it one little bit.
#1-If you went to the Gold Coast during the day on either Thursday or Friday to ask cashiers to "look" for older chips for you. That was a big mistake. ESPECIALLY on NFR rodeo week.
Those cashiers are run ragged just trying to keep up with regular buisness, without having someone come along with your request.
#2-Thursday and Friday are check cashing days and again NOT a time to ask cashiers to "look" for older chips.
Since you say you live in Las Vegas, that means you could go to the casinos any off time to ask for chips, and not be a pain in the neck (or lower parts) to hard working cashiers.
MOST of us try to be a little bit considerate to casino workers with our requests.
AND BY NO MEANS should such minor matters be brought to the attention of the Casino Commission.
