It is my understanding that all of the dice in a stick have matching numbers. It is one of the means of tracking dice at a craps table. Before sending the dice to the shooter, the dice are always checked to see if they are the dice that were given to the shooter before the previous roll. They have other methods as well as the numbers of marking the dice for identification at the table and avoiding the introduction of crooked dice (at least that is my understanding).
