Re: LOOKING TO RENT A CAR IN VEGAS

Thanks again Don! I wasn't sure about the terminal fee with Alamo.

You are very right about looking the car over before leaving the lot. I have yet to be charged for damage, but I do a thorough examination of the car before I leave the lot and insist that anything I find is noted on the rental agreement or the damage assessment. Some companies will stick you for glass chips in the windshield, sometimes hard to see little marks left by rocks thrown up by vehicles in front of you where ever you are driving. I'd consider these to be normal wear, but some rental car companies don't.

I rented a Ford Fiesta in Houston a few years back that was scary to drive, it was ill-handling and all over the road above 50 mph. When I dropped it off, I heard one of the lot jockeys tell another one to not bother servicing it because they were sending it to their wholesaler the next day. ...yet they insisted that I return the car full of gas or pay $4 a gallon for them to fill it! Sheesh!
