Ed; Just as a follow-up to your post .... The definitions that are published on the club website were not definitions that were drafted or voted upon by club officers. They were definitions that were drafted, and sometimes re-drafted, by individuals who submitted them for publication. Anyone can still submit their definition of a term that is not currently listed on that site.... and others are free to disagree with it. These definitions of terms were intended to help novice collectors understand what other collectors took for granted ... that everyone understood them when making references to commonly accepted terminology in the hobby, but was a whole new language to grasp for some newcomers into the hobby.
