(Not going to use chip examples as experience has shown that can create hard feelings).
I have been watching laptops on Ebay. Last night a person won a laptop with a bid of $545. The problem is that the seller has this identical system listed in his ebay store with a "buy it now" price of $529 and if you use buy it now he throws in a free case ($20 option).
The top three "snipers" in this auction were all over the buy it now price.
On another auction that expired last night the person won with a final bid of $400. The buy it now price on this laptop was originally $399. Ok, so that isn't so bad. However, if you used buy it now from this seller the shipping was free (about $25).
I assume that folks are on ebay trying to save a few bucks. I am just amazed by what actually takes place. It seems that the psychology of winning the auction somehow overrides common sense at some point.
Glad this doesn't happen with chips
