Have you tried using FireFox instead of IE. I am not trying to promote it or start a thread about which is the best browser, but I also have the (sigh) troubled Windows ME and that browser has worked for me. It has some great features but takes some time to get used to. It is not linked to Windows in the way IE is. Just my 2 chip.
