There are no laws that apply to retired casino chips. And there are many of these casinos that sold off their chips with the rest of their furniture and fixtures when they closed. In other locations, like Atlantic City, there are laws that require the casinos to destroy retired chips. So it depends where the casino is located that will determine what happens to the retired chips.
