Thought I'd point out this auction. Let me say upfront, I have NO beef with this seller OR his auction! In fact, I bought one of these chips from him and am satisfied with the whole transaction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63752&item=6131322105&rd=1
The chip in question is a 1st issue Mustang Club C&J $5 rated R-10 by Campiglia and Wells (impossible, 2-3 known survivors) and V9190 *W by TCR. We learned here recently that * means "no market" because the chip is so scarce that there is no way to put a definate market value on it. Well, this is the 3rd one that this seller has put up for auction. The seller presents the chip accurately, that is, a table worn chip with ZERO foil left on the hotstamp! You get a bald chip that cleaned a touch too exuberantly. The seller appears to be a general antique seller and shouldn't be expected to have expertise in chips. The seller makes no claim of value or rarity only "Chip measures 1 1/2" W and will make an excellent addition to your collection." He's correct in that as I am happy to have the chip I won in one of his previous auctions.
My only purpose here is to point out that the population of this chip is apparently more than thought. I haven't contacted the seller to find out how many of these tidy chips he has on hand. If anyone wishes to ask, please let us know!
